In fact I was thinking about your situation the other day as my oldest son is old enuff too get a bike is to how I would feel about him riding.
Your daughter and son inlaw? both ride so it must be alright

I am a single dad with both my teenage sons living with me and often wondered if I had a bad stack or even died what their futures would be, so I loaded up the death and disability insurances If the worst happens I want everyone to celebrate a life well lived and died doing what I loved and not blame motorcycles as the cause.

Yes it is worth considering what if, as long as you prepare and provide after you are gone the pain although never good for the surviving clan will at least be a little less, ya cant go around being pesamistic though, you know ya wanna ride

If it's what makes you happy, do it.

When it's your turn to die, there's nothing you can do about it, so you may as well enjoy every minute you're alive. If you were to die doing something you loved, isnt it better than never leaving the house in case something might happen, only to slip in the shower one day and break your neck?

I think the key ingrediant here is MIGHTY BOY.
At least on a bike you've got a helmet and (hopefully) clothing with armour, padding etc.
What have you got protecting you in a mighty boy???

Besides I think you're half way there already, doesn't the mighty boy have a motorbike engine in it!!

Mate i have 3 kids and ride everyday,risks are everywhere hey just look at the road toll for car drivers but they still get behind the wheel...save some of that insurance money and spend it on real insurance:upgrading your skills at a bike course..

ride sensibly, dont skimp on insurance and all's good - so long as the missus knows whatever happens is part and parcel of motorcycling.

Not saying not to get insurance,just get what u need,then get the even more valuable one of rider training to hone your skills for when that idiot pulls out in front of you because" they didn't see you"
