yep, gotta agree with scott, my zzr600 had the same shock (hmmm ohlins with a longer spring)and fork springs (spacers etc) setup AND muzzy 4 into 1 as troys bike (and dean thomas's).

my best was about a 1:50 odd on that bike at the creek. i'm no "A" grade road racer tho

compared to todays weapons it would be a heap of shite but compared to a 93-94 cbr or fzr/yzf it was a lot closer to being the best bike out there. certainly had the best engine, it was after all a kawasaki.

as dave said they were quite often the fastest of the 600's of that era but gave away a few kilos to the cbr and yzf.

and remeber, thats the old yzf thunder cat, which was the replacement for the fzr, the R6 didnt come out till about 96/97 did it??
fzr finished about 91 an became yzf??
cbr in 93 woulda been like the f2 or f3, one piece seat, which was pretty comparable to the zzr in riding position etc, and also based more on a sport/touring market...wasnt till the cbr600F4i in 99 that honda really took the super sport by the balls...

nah neka, i'm talking the yzf BEFORE the chundercat (thundercat) the one with the fox eye headlights the same as the yzf 750 and 1000. 94 & 95 they were made, i think the first chundercat cam out in 96.

i had a mate who had one, not a bad machine @ the time, more racey then the zzr and cbr.

ah b4 the chunder??..i thought the yzf that replaced the fzr's were called chundercat from the 1st series...guess i was wrong (geez that doesnt happen very often)..also remeber guys that while the zzr was a race bike, there was no such thing as a zx6r...remeber back in about 92 or so the zzr1100 was actually the worlds fastest "sportsbike"...until honda bought out the blackbird, then kwaka got serious with the zx12r in about 96-97??
neway, i gotta go get sum bike pieces..c yas later

Phil mate think the T-cat was after the FZR n before the YZF's, I Wanted one bad at the time, But got it over it when they bought out the YZF's as they were damn ugly imo,
Cheers Brett

nope, the yzf600 and 750's had the fox eye lights, the 1000, for some reason was called an fzr.

the original, slimline fzr600's were still available (single headlight as opposed to the original dual headlight) up until 94 i think. no one raced them as they werent in the same league as the zzr and cbr.

the "fox eye"600 looked the same as the yzf750 that was used in world superbike, who could forget the original yzf750SP, now they were a trick looking unit. the 1000 was the last to get the "fox eyes" but was still called an fzr. the 600 was only available for 2 years and then they brought out the single headlight yzf 600 thundercat in 96 in the hideous yellow and silver paint scheme. later models, like the one my mate big guy had were in the traditional blue white yamaha racing paint scheme.

the fox eye 600 was campained in the australian supersport champs by such noteable people as damon buckmaster and warwick nowland (remember the zurich stikers).
