E tax is generally a reasonable product.

However, beware that it will not highlight obvious things you miss. eg The ATO has a huge bucket of Family Tax benefit money that people have not claimed. Anyone with dependants may well be entitled anything up to about 2.5k per year. Tick the wrong box in etax and you don't get it.

The clincher? The ATO will only allow you to claim one prior year back so if you missed it in 2005, bad luck.

I prefer to use a Tax Agent. They know more about tax then I do. If you have a fairly straightforward return though E Tax is OK.

Acciountant for me, I get to claim far more than what she costs me and saves me the headache. yeah it costs but I can claim that back on tax anyways.

Certainly came in handy with moving out in the next few months, means all the money i had put aside for those bills is now buying fridge/washers.
