ok well yeh been through it all.
lost everything, even though it was mine, as it was my choice to leave. though i had a bad lawyer. (myself)
was living together for 9 months, classed as de-facto, which i thought sucked.
i lost it as i was silly enough to go joint on rego of car i bought, and as i had another car with my name on it, mums they said i had transport, and he didnt so he needed the car.
bed as i moved home, where i had a bed, i was told leave it.
laptop, was my christmas present, as he bought it it is his.
so after loosing the 3grand for my pristine hz i cleaned out the house, as i was smart enough to get my parents to use their credit card to buy fridge and table and lounges and that stuff, so he had no choice but return it as it wasnt his or mine...

The 6 months is right but if they ever left durign that period (for whatever reason, argument etc., home to Mum for a few days) and you can prove it, then its not six months.
6 months uninterupted would be MORER correctus....

fark, im just lucky the only thing i lost was a few cd's, i got one or two things of hers, but it was all pretty much by accident, my stuff went with me, her stuff went in boxes to her sisters place. The car was in my name in rego, loaned in both our names, so we got it paid out and then sold the car to something that was a bit less expensive per-month.
Basically the idea was she was going to the UK to do a working holiday there, with the idea that i try and follow about 4-5 months later. The only problem being she met someone over there after a couple of months....
*shrug*
Six years later, stings a bit to think about, but in the end im glad she's gone and i've moved on to bigger and better things

.
She's a nice girl now, been married 4 yrs and just had her first kid 14mths ago.

When my mate divorced his now ex-wife, she literally took half of everything...
Half of 2 dinner sets (i.e 2 of the 4 dinner plates, 2 of the 4 bowls etc), half of the cutlery set, half of the wine and scotch glasses sets...

Oh my thats a little over the top i think
In my eyes: It comes down to who came with what, and after your together most items would have been purchased together.
If you came with a car and a bed. You leave with your car, bed and half of what you accumulated together.
Good luck either way.
