you gotta get your head out of ebay. $160 would have gotten you a great bike through the trading post or even a base "new"one at kmart. As for the distance, you should be able to do 17km in around 40~50 minutes, once you get your bike legs and providing it isn't all hills. I take a 33km ride most sundays and average 22km/h. So it takes me around an hour and twenty.

Stick with it. It takes about 3 weeks to get your legs and lungs up to speed, less than that for your arse to adjust to the narrow seat..

Ok, I exagerated a little...

but not much.

yeah unless i wana spend more to get the bike ride, however, lost confidence, like the old way - RUN!!!

i have now decided to run to train station and then catch the train to work and then run again from station to work.

good 4-5k work

or one day i will take it to a bike shop and fix it

You should have done your trip to Vic for the Halls Gap ride on the Pushy mate. By the sounds of it you would have got further than you did on the ZZR

Hey! I got as far as Thunderbolts and the Oxley Hwy. Don't blame me if they put all the good roads and weather up this end of the country.

dont lose faith mate...i been riding my pushie a fair bit lately....not by choice, but its abt 4km to work..im saving abt $20 a week on petrol, getting fit & losing a bit of pud (hopefully)..and have a bit of fun trying to remeber how to wheelie/stoppie them...

as a kid i rode a pushy EVERYWHERE..and living out of town 12km meant a 24km round trip on a BMX to go see ya mates..oh that use to b fun...

only problem i got is as i leave for work at 8am its abt 3 deg, and even tho u warm up quick, the wind chill cains ur ears/nose/arms..or u can rug up & sweat like a pig....

17km mate...good work...
