Whaaa... whaaa????? did I mis sunfink bra???? (Assimilating with native tongue)
Little lesson for young eager grasshopper;
Years 17 - 21 (young,dumb and fulla cum!) :
If you made it to 21 on a bike you ride the hardest you ever will in your life but crash lots and put new bike parts over food on the table , bills , etc.(You are iether riding a shitbox to and beyond its limits , are up to the eyeballs in HP , sell drugs or bludge off rich parents!!)
You are still learning but what you lack in ability you make up for with enthusiasm.
Years 21 - 30 (still young but a little smarter) :
Ok so you have learned a few valuable lessons and have the scars (and Ti screws) to prove it!! You now ride probably the fastest you ever will as you have learnt a bit more of the art of riding , you still have the lightning fast reactions and normally have an income to support the nicer things in life like say a 10!!
Much more ability / same amount of enthusiasm!
Years 30 - 40 (Old enough to know better!!):
By now you have /or had a stable of bikes , a shed that has the young guns creamin their jeans over , normally a couple of rug rats but still suffer from the occasional 'red mist syndrome'
You begin to notice that despite the taunts from young bucks they often seem to emulate you / constantly ask for set up tips and advice / you buy brand 'X' , they buy brand 'X' etc !?
If you have been riding since step one you take great pleasure in shutting down younger riders on bigger / faster bikes.
By now you have a good balance of youth / ability / experience and sensibilility (occasionally)
If you have not ridden since 17 - 25 you :
A Buy smart ie a late 90's+ ZX 9 , ZX12r , ZX14R , 1400GTR or similar ie a good all rounder with plenty of mumbo but a better bike for the longer tours --- Coz you CAN!!!
B have just brought an Aprilia/Ducatti or similar (2 wheeled equiv to red MGB/Lotus etc!!!) You have all the bling money can buy on a 35K + ride which is NEVER seen dirty.You tend to leave your helmet on just that little bit longer after group rides to hide the thinning hairline!?..You buy second hand track day tyres and knee sliders to give a bit of "street cred'!!" (Another story.....

)
Most importantly - If you are a 'TRUE motorcyclist' and HAVE been riding consistently for 20+ odd years , you have seen a few rather unpleasant sights from those who may or may not have tempted fate. You remember how little you listened to old farts back then but you try anyway because you've seen enough horror to not wish it upon another.
[Paris Hilton is the 'step through' of bedroom babes IMO!!!!]
