Dude, if you're happy with the outcome the that's what matters most, personally I think it's fucking draconian, lose your license for 2 years... shit here in Vic there have been motorcyclists run over and KILLED by cagers that have worn $500 fines, no loss of license, don't even believe any points were lost, and this has happened in at least 2 cases if not more, the law is fucked up I reckon.

Thats great Greg if yu can work it that way

I still think you got a hard deal though.
The lady that killed my brother in law in a hit and run when he was on his bike got off. Her reason for hitting him was she thought she had hit a parked car and was at the pub all afternoon so thought she would report it the day after. Mind you gave police false name from the start to

When you can go to jail for speeding 50k+ there is something seriously wrong ith the system. take right of way and put someone in hospital for six months, say you didnt see him, and you get off with a warning.
better than it could have been but still f*cked I reckon
They have recently cracked down on speeding motorist since all these young p platers have been killed from high speed crashed
I can vouch for NSW courts cracking down on speeding motorcyclists.
I was kinda expecting this outcome except the home detention part.
I got 2 yrs as well + 18month good behaviour bond + $1000 fine. Also the judge contemplated jailing me as well.
It seems the judges in NSW definitely are looking at jailing traffic offenders so play nice out there guys.

I meant what Mick and Lainie said, The cager that put Gav in hospital has been fined for disobeying give way rules. Meanwhile gav is on his back with a 2 broken hips, split pelvis etc.
So we have to stop ppl killing
themselves (speeding) but its OK to kill OTHER ppl....
When you can go to jail for speeding 50k+ there is something seriously wrong with the system. You havent actually hurt anyone, but the POTENTIAL was there. Cager DOES it and gets away with it.

I still think you got severely ripped off on the entire matter, but i guess as long as your happy with the outcome, you can't really ask any more. I wonder what would have to happen for them to ease back on being such frickin nazi's, aside from a f*^*ing miracle.
btw how far are you allowed to go from your home anyway? i know theres some shops just down the road a k or two, not even allowed that far i gather?

That frustrates me...
Your laywer should have pointed out that they obviously do not have ANY idea what speed you were really doing.... and therefore could have bargained it down a fair bit....
In any case, I am happy you are not going to jail..... And at least it is over...
