Kawasaki S2 350 race bike
Kawasaki S2 350 race bike
I purchased this racing bike late last year and looking for the history of this bike.
Its 1972, has a S2 350 motor in a shortened S1 250 frame. I was told that it originally raced in South Australia and was blue in colour. I bought it out of Tasmania.
If any one knows anything about the bike it will me helpful.

Re: Kawasaki S2 350 race bike
I was looking at that when it came up, the number boards are the wrong colour, seemed a bit suss as the previous owner could not give much history.
Re: Kawasaki S2 350 race bike
The bike in in great condition, came with re-built/ re bored motor with Woosner pistons, new crank, boyer ignition, new tyres & brakes. I have only has to re jet/re build carbs to run it back on two stroke.
Set of new plugs and retard the ignition. Yes i had the same issue with the previous owner, very little history, only that it was from SA and was blue.

Hey Robracer, the bike is well prepared, however its annoying that the history is so thin.

Re: Kawasaki S2 350 race bike
great looking S1 - the frame looks like the rear loop has been removed ? Is this what is meant by a shortened frame ?
The S1/S2/S3 frames were all the same from the factory - you could fit any of the 250/350/400 motors in these frames, as the motor was the same from base-gasket down.
Would love to hear that bike running, those chambers look the goods

Re: Kawasaki S2 350 race bike
sounds great
I fired up my other S1 today, the road version. Sounds awesome, still running stock pipe on it......
I am not sure if you will find much history unless it came from the previous owner ? The bike could have changed hands many times and all the history is lost through the years. If it had been raced in SA through the years, you would need to go through the archives of the various bike clubs, looking for old race results and pics - very time-consuming. Or maybe some old magazines of the era might help. You would need to know riders names though to look for history this way.
What sort of history do you think the bike has as a racer ?

Lovely little bike. Incidently I am looking at buying a S2 350 racer at the moment.
I have not seen yours out racing. do you plan to run it in P4?
cheers,
