Hi guys,
I've done one track day on the bike and I found it was geared a little high. Standard seems to be 17/40. Mine is 16/39. So strangely someone's gone down one on both.
What do others run out there?
I'm short shifting into 6th on the straight and out back I'm running third gear from T3 to the hairpin, which feels Ok but I'm below 10k for most of it. Was thinking 16/41 or 42.

Re: ZX10 gearing for the Creek
On my 05 I ran 16/40 or 41, from memory (it seems so long ago..
)
Would do about 270 - 275 on the EC straight (real gps speed) with good drive and still have a little left before it ran out of steam, just in case..

Re: ZX10 gearing for the Creek
MadKaw's bike was also a little bit healthier than the average bike and he weighs about 70kg so he can get away with taller gearing.
Mine is running 16/44 as I need the shorter gearing to push the extra weight and wind drag down the straight, but I need to change it to 15/41 to reduce the rotating mass and improve the antisquat of the swingarm. I run in 3rd through turn 2 and 4th gear from 3 to 6 as a comparison.
I think you are better off going with a 15 tooth front sprocket and running 15/39 since you already have the 39 tooth rear. If that is still a bit tall, then you could change it to 15/40, but you shouldn't need to go shorter than that.
