Yep makes sense. Did you use the sticky pad that came with it or did you screw it to the helmet?

The sticky pads work fine....never screw anything into your helmet.

Yep sticky pad, cleaned the surface with an alcohol swab first & let it dry completely, then applied the mount & let that sit overnight..... its rock solid but I still use a small lanyard attached to the camera just in case it gets knocked off

Lanyard is a good idea. The Murray stole a gopro3 from me last year

I go the side mount (after trying the Teletubbie mount on the top) on the dirt the same as Rob, as well as on the road; but it needs to go on the bike for the track as the speeds get too high and anything on your helmet causes too much wind drag.

ram mount do a 1 inch ball.
I have adapted a ball mount to the case.
The option for on bike or vehicle are endless with their gear.
was good when we were 1.00+ us.
I made a few strontium magnet mounts now for cars.

Generally rear wards facing on the helmet and use the chest strap forwards, that way I get most footage, also pre ride the trail/ track and tape them hidden in trees like in special areas likely to cause grief  that way people are natural and not showing off for the camera.
I have smacked my helmet cam hard many times on mallee trees bashing new track and it has never come off however i have had limited success bike mounting them on a chooky.

Here is a few vids

chest strap and rear helmet mounted (1.28 and 1.40)

mostly chest mounted on the bike and spectator footage

Helmet side mounted forward

Road bike I used the suction cap and had it on the right fairing so I could get the lean angle and exhaust note. Did also pick up the forks as well and looks pretty cool watching how it all works in the video. Have a mount on top of my helmet but it's too high up

Anywhere on the bike that gets a good view, but it depends on the bike and your imagination as to where you can fit them.
