Welding on a frame

Hey guys, you might recall I have to sell my bike, see here http://www.ksrc-au.com/phpBB3/viewtopic ... 16&t=43311

I have convinced the minister for finance to let me get and old dunger to get me around, at least until I get back on track and able to purchase another decent one.

My issue is that on the new old bike, the bracket that the rear blinker assembly bolts on to has broken. It looks like the weld has cracked over time and recently let go. There is no surface rust on one part so it was very recent.

I could just leave it and dodgy it up but Id like to make it right.... so my question is

Is it ok to weld the bracket back on? If so what precautions ie electrical should I take?

Back in the day we just used to disconnect the battery and make sure it was well earthed

Just disconnect battery to be safe and weld her up

Um.....well...... I was hoping I wouldn't get called on that

It's a FJ1100

Got 11 months rego, new tyres, new chain and sprockets goes like a cut cat, and cheap

It'll do until I get sorted.

Then I'm looking at a ZX14R
