I thought you would need to inject extra fuel for the nitrous to work. I call bullshit on this one. :shock:

Its a dry shot setup and nothing substantial at that. it would work maybe, direct wet shot is the way.

No, that is not a dry set-up at all. That is a crappy little thing that you could get a bit of extra noise out of a tiny engine... No good for anything bigger than a pit bike. You have to set it up to run a bit rich all the time so it survives the extra without going lean.

Bear in mind, a normal size Nitorus bottle (same as a scuba tank) holds ~10lb of gas and being used at 50 (Hp) shot is empty in 3 minutes. Those little buggers at 0.5 Hp shot would still be empty in a few seconds.

Actually, if you are running fuel injection, I prefer a dry set-up. With a dry kit, the gas is added on it's own (ie dry) and the extra fuel is added by the injectors.

There are some disadvantages, but one major advantage:
Mainly that fuel measurement and distribution is handled by the injectors (they are good at that - it's 'what they do') With a single point wet system, the fuel droplets will not evaporate (there is cryogenic cold N2O gas about) and so do not always flow evenly into each of the cylinders - wetting, pooling, etc. Multi-port wet is safer in principle, but with small shots the jet sizes become small, and one blockage in a fuel jet = added crank venting and a very expensive oil smell.

My system was set-up to add the extra fuel by ramping fuel pressure. The gas was only triggered once the fuel pressure target was reached (ie fuel first, then gas).

Down side of the dry system is it does not lend itself to messing with - actually it's a plus side. I had a 50(Hp) shot on my car for ages. If some bloke beat me in a race*, then he beat me - I didn't have the urge to push it up to 75 shot. It's a slippery slope!

I ran gas on my car for about 5 years back in RSA, covering nearly 200 000km in that time. My mates tried it, mostly went wet kits because the tuner prefered to install them, and within a month or two were carrying a conrod in their pocket and just shake their heads when you asked about the laughing gas...

* I used to go looking for races many nights - it was okay back in the good old days. We also used to set up 'illegal drags' in the industrial area. The cops used to pitch up to watch. We liked them being there because they kept the dealers and rubbish away.
