Re: zx10 swing arm
Thanks Jim I just got hold of one so all good now, I have a ZX7 caliper, Bracket & everything ready to go, I just need to paint the ZX7 swingarm black & I will swap it all over
I thought about fitting a ZX10 swingarm on my ZXR 750 but I really could not be bothered spending the time & money on a 20 year old bike, I am pretty set on getting a ZX10 for my next project anyway
You would be much better off fitting the rear brake, Wheel & axle from a ZX10 when you do the conversion, Saves a lot of stuffing round, I cant remember exactly but the ZXR/ZX7 has a different size axle to the ZX10, You can change the bearings in your zx7 wheel but you would have to stuff around with spacers & lining up all the brake & sprocket setup, I think I would prefer to just buy a good set of ZX7 lightweight race wheels one day that will bolt on my ZXR (With ZX7 forks & swingarm)
I can find a few links for you that give you all the bearing numbers & spacer dimensions etc to fit the ZX10 swinger on a ZX7
Would be good to see how you go with the ZX10 swingarm conversion though, Take lotsa pics & post the details as you go

Re: zx10 swing arm
Yeah I thought so, Are you going to change over to ZX7 forks also?
All I needed to fit the ZX7 wheel in the ZX7 swingarm was the left side wheel spacer part number 92143-1784
I can use my axle, Right side spacer & sprocket hub for the conversion
Also found this site is handy (Free postage for orders over $50 too>
http://mototech.com.au/oem-parts.php?br ... nType=NONE
They (Mototech) have plenty of parts diagrams but the ones they dont have can be found in the link below then search the part number at Mototech
http://www.motosport.com/AU/motorcycle/ ... s/KAWASAKI
I have placed an order with Mototech so I will see how the service is?
Sorry Piggo, Back to the ZX10 conversion

Re: zx10 swing arm
thank you i really appreciate the help you are giving me and you are right i think the wheel and brakes are the go i will be doing the conversion slowly due to time and money and if all works yer the swing and brakes will be there for some one so i am going to just gather all the gear required to do it then go for it i aqm a storeman at a machine shop so spaces wont be a problem to be made just got to get hold of some drawings. have seen a few with the conversion they look good and also cuts a bit of weight off the bike,me not being a strong fella will help me. dont want to get rid of it as i love the thing. so if that swing arm is still there would be great to get it and thats a start of project. once again guys thanks for your help

Re: zx10 swing arm
Yeah you have the right idea, Make sure you get all the parts first then do the conversion, I have done the same with my ZXR even though I am only going to a ZX7 swingarm, I might go to ZX10 one day maybe when the ZX10 parts have dropped in price a bit more

Re: zx10 swing arm
Wattie, What is the other ZX10 swingarm you have like? Does it have much damage?
Can you post some pics of it
I am thinking about collecting the parts over time & doing the ZX10 conversion at a later date
