Flywheels recommend pirelli Angel. For my Poof style of riding. $285 fitted with a chain adjust. See how we go with this as there is so much choice. The guys out there are doing all my work and a lot of little stuff for free. Hopefully he gives me the right advice.
Thank you to all for the feed back.

Mate I'm sure they will be great. We used to do 1'50"s on a streetbike around the Island on Michelin A and M 49's! Some older riders will remember them.

Make sure you look at the manufactor date. It is in a little rectangle and will be a number like 1011. That means it was manufactored the 10th week of 2011. Some of these discount places buy old tires and sell them for discounts because there way old. I'm no expert but from what I've read 3 years is too old. The rubber and the chemicals that make the tire sticky deteriorate. Jim Beam lasts forever.

I just ran a second hand slick last week that was made in "03" it had 10 laps on it and was a true ntec so I was easy on it for the first 5 laps then straight into it with no problems. Was super sticky

Re: New rear rubber need advice
I used to run them on my FZR600 when I lived in Adelaide. Martin at GC Motorcycles loved me as I was in every 1500klms to get new tyres. They gripped like shit to a blanket, but didn't last very long!Glen wrote:Michelin Hi Sports are the biz.............

Better than that Avon I put on the 9 in Sydney once to get me back to Melbourne. It was illegal by the time I got back, so probably 1000klms or less on it. Fuck it disappeared fast.

But I still think UCC had it nailed with Macadams. Best tyre ever made weren't they? Or was it the Pirelli Phantoms which were the best tyre ever made? Toss a coin hey!

Phantom Silver Dots were the ducks guts
or Avon Roadrunners.
I used to have macadams on my Katana back in the day, and Metzeter ME 33's
...and Dunlop Touring Elite's....you only needed one tyre for the life of a bike

Sorry, a Jim Beam typo. 1011 means 10th week 2011. Thanks.
