Out for 2-3 months- Minor Accident

Post by TyM2Go »

good news and bad news

start with the bad 1st, i had an accident this tues on the oph to many farking twigs after a storm and ended up in the mud/ gravel leafy area after fucking up on the road my only option was to slow it down on the side and thats when the bike lost traction threw me of landed on my shoulder slid for a bit
so far the bike has scratches on the exhaust fairings pretty much the right side the brake leaver was bent and will require plyers or a new brake lever, indicator poped out along with a hole in that area but that being said the bike isn't with me so i cant really see the damage for my self as its with a mate that helped me out
now on to me ive broken my clavicle in 2 places, and torn a couple of ligaments in my left thumb so riding is out of the question for 3months which is the most saddest part for me anyways
p.s was wearing all my gears saved my arse all though the titanium plating hmmm just transferred the impact 2 my shoulder that titanium pad is dented in a bit like a mother fucker in a bit as i landed on my shoulder 1st
also i cant type properly as i can only use 4 of my left fingers (i am a right handed person) so sorry for the shitty way i type

good news is
u guys don't have to worry about the newbie in the back at your local rides
i dont have to work, uni
those who wanted to rub it in heres your chance with that whole "i told you so" but im glad i took your advice on the gears :kuda:
regards fitzy

Good to hear you came out with relatively minor damage, in some respects real lucky as some of the stacks on the OPH are shockers, & without the gear well you can guess yourself.... would probably be a right mess. Did you get insurance on the bike?

well it has to be said and someone will say it, so might as well be me.

pretty lucky you weren't squidin it   and now i bet your 1000km in a week didn't give you too much experiance.

all jokes aside though mate nobody wants to see or hear of another rider getting hurt while on the bike, or rub your nose in it.
it all comes down to experience so put that one in the memory bank, learn what you did wrong or right and it might save you next time, i think 95% of new riders that have never ridden before drop there bike in one way or another so don't get too down about it.

i didn't "tell you so" but someone did. :D :D

hope you mend well and jump back on the bike soon ;)

Sorry to hear about your accident. Good that ya had the right gear on! Hate to think what the result of not having it on n grinding along the road would be :S bikes can be fixed easy :) Main thing is getting healed up ok :)

that was pretty much my main question to the nurse 1)is my bike okay 2)when can i get on it
she replied with if your shoulder is dislocated 1 week if its broken 3 months that pretty much hurt-ed me the most
im glad i came of relatively easy as in the same turn flowers were put up for 2 people that died there in the same spot i came of

yea i had 3rd party property but no comp but turns out it should be an easy fix fairings scratched/damaged along with the indicator / brake lever might get to put a custom paint job on it if the paint / fairings cant be saved

ironically the person who helped me out asked why i was laughing when i was in pain just at that moment i remembered 6maniac & russian spys wise words : plan your corners mate  but yeah once im fixed i cant wait to get out there and conquer that bend :kuda:
cheers

No point rubbing salt into wounds, heal quick and see you back on road.

I have a pair of frame sliders for your 250R that panza hasn't picked up amoungst other parts.

Not sure if he has lost interest but if he doesnt pick them up soon, you can have them.

Bummer, as others have said glad to hear your ok, the gear was a good idea in the end so good on you for listening :)
You'll learn a lot from this, even though it's a shit way of learning. It helps.
