bike lift
bike lift
has anyone got a bike lifter /stand that can be used with the wheels and swingarm removed i would like some pics as i would like to make a hydraulic version using rams and pump from an old mercury outboard these things can raise aboout 400kgs so lifting a 12r should be no problem
If it aint broke don't fix it just gain more horsepower

They sell em at Repco and perhaps Supercheap even if that's any help.

bike lift
Problem is with jap bikes the exhaust runs under the bike. Bit hard to lift from underneath.
Then I take forks and shock out, I use axle stands under the foot pegs and a front headstem stand.

Re: bike lift
I wouldn't go using a stand straight under the sump mate, I have used the swingarm pivot bolt (that's hollow) and a makeshift stand to go under the headstock (bit of bar under the headstock and two screw jacks either side) on my 250.
Then to get the swingarm off I just welded up some frames while it was in the air to bolt onto the bikes frame and worked my way around the whole bike
I know it's not what your after but I'd steer clear from the sump.

Re: bike lift
I hang the bike from a beam of pallet racking, just cause I can
Car stands under the rearsets & headlift stand will do the trick otherwise.
