3 Bikes Caught in Wollongong Floods

Post by Nelso »

A wall of water came down our street and pushed the garage doors in and flooded the garage. Leanne's ZX10, her track bike and my ZRX got flooded along with everything else in the garage. Luckily it stopped just as it reached the front door so inside the house stayed dry but the garage and yard are a mess. Unfortunately the exhaust on Leanne's 10 filled with water and the water level was as high as the exhaust port on the head so we think it may need a strip down. :(

As long as you both are ok ;) you can always update to brand new bikes later on if they get totalled ;)

Her bike is covered but we don't know about the house yet. The assessor is calling in the morning but we are assuming we should be covered since it was storm water that did the damage.

Crack the sump plug, if there's water in there it will come out first. If there's water in the bores how easy are the plugs to pull out and crank it over a bit?

:(

How long did the floods happen for? I'm just wondering as i could see that the vents under the house were under the waterline. I second the suggestion of just draining the sump and taking a peek.
As to how wet it was, I got caught up in some shitful rain on Friday and Saturday going down the coast and back and have no arguments about how freaking nuts it was getting. All i can say is it getting worse, damn.
