But then I read some more and it says that the vent tube could be blocked. Now where might this vent tube be on a 250R?

Yep it's just a breather, perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. They all have a bit of a whistle on a hot day.
Good luck with the bike, it sounds OK and a little drop on a learner bike is nothing so long as you're happy with the price.
Warranty is normally only two years so it's probably gone.

Hehe, when I first heard it I had no idea what it was. I think it was more than a little drop Glen as the mirror was really scratched, but if it's mechanically OK, I really don't care. Cosmetic things are irrelevant and easy to replace/fix.
It feels good to join the Kawasaki club!
I even 'convinced' a mate to buy one and he went and got one today.

Good news. I've ridden the baby for 500 odd kms and it hasn't missed a beat! The 250Rs are awesome bikes for learners!
