Police
Hi, given the amount of cop/police "bashing" that goes on on this forum, I thought it would be good to tell what happenned to me this morning.
I was sitting in a line of traffic and the police were on the side of the road (including a bike and car) just up ahead, one of the police pointed at me, basically telling me to pull over, so obviously I did. He was close enough to see that my front tyre wasn't quite legal.
Instead of fining me, he looked at it and said that the bike couldn't have been much fun to ride witht he tyre worn as it was and he said that he reckoned I should get a new one, and that was that, no fine, no details taken, just some good advice.
Thanks, Mr Policeman!
BTW, have booked in to have a new tyre fitted on Saturday!

Re: Police
Good to hear! A bit like when I supposedly got caught doing 24 over and lane splitting, and he did me for the lane splitting only
He was a gsxr1000 rider who frequents the creek. Told me to go up the putty and kill myself, don't speed on the way to work

Re: Police
It's only the stupid decisions that the minority (usually HWY) come up with that people usually complain about. It's good to hear you came accross one of the many good cops who use common sense, which resulted in a positive outcome ie. you getting the message and fixing the problem without needing to be fined.MrFaulty wrote:Hi, given the amount of cop/police "bashing" that goes on on this forum, I thought it would be good to tell what happenned to me this morning.

Re: Police
Ive had my fair share of good cop bad cop, as im sure most of us have, (and its good to acknolwedge the good ones) but i find it 'interesting'
that out of all the traffic passing he 'chooses' to pull over the bike..

It all comes down to how you ride it.....

Don't read into it too much Possum, after all he helped Sir Faulty be safer, plus soon his bike will actually steer again

He pulled me over as he said he could see there was a problem with my front tyre - and I was close enough for that to be true; that combined with the fact that as I pulled up he immediately explained why he called me over sort of says it all.

Re: Police
Tis nice to see them being discretionary.Rather than booking for every nit pick, which drives everyone up the wall and does F.A for police/rest of us relations.
Was with my daughter doing her L's in the cage when we momentarily pulled over into a no stopping zone in Homebush Bay on a Sunday,we stopped because she'd just stuffed up the turn a bit and i wanted to explain what she'd done wrong so we stopped you could have fired a shotgun in any direction and not hit a soul, place was totally deserted.Stopped for like 3 seconds and WoooWoooWoo behind us.Booked with a ticket written up (For me!!Damn it !!!
) for not supervising.I wore it because,im in the wrong , but gee i though just a caution would have been a fair cop for the situation, wasn't exactly holding up or impeding traffic Instead its a fine and points.Aw well

Re: Police
My impression was that even with Ls, the person behind the wheel is responsible for the car. End of story. Unless they've changed it.webcase wrote:Tis nice to see them being discretionary.Rather than booking for every nit pick, which drives everyone up the wall and does F.A for police/rest of us relations.
