How good is the AUD/USD

Post by Glen »

For the opportunists among us it's a pretty good time to go shopping in the US for your bits and pieces.

I was cruising around last night looking at exhaust options for the tracky (I'm still happy with what I've got but given that stuff is cheap I thought I'd have a squiz. Came up with a Competition Werkes under tail single side jobby for just over $350 landed here, so I thought what the heck. Found the local distributor here and guess what, he can do it for $330, talk about cheap, so i grabbed it.

So if you're after anything now's not bad timing. It might be a closing window of opportunity though, the technical view from some of the FX guys is that it won't last forever. Last time we did this we were back at $0.80 in a flash. The sun is shining, make hay...............

Was good while I was there the last two weeks. Alpinestar boots for about half of what you'd pay here :kuda:

About to pay for a trip to South Africa in the next week, all prices are in US$, so may work to our advantage.

The AUD has been great, just picked up a power commander V from the US for just over $300 shipped.

Good reminder!

I've needed a lead for my sennheiser headphones for a while but didn't feel like paying the $65 from Australian retailers for a small bit of cable and 2 plugs. Just got the genuine article from a US store for $20 shipped.

Kind of sucks for company's (like the one I work for) who do most of their sales in the US - high AU$ = low profits
Good for purchases though

Talking to the FX guys at our bank this morning, they have a new name for the AUD....The Webber

It's going strong and it looks positive and you really want to get behind it but in the back of your mind you know it's going to crash and burn
