Caught by Mobile Speed Camera?
Has anyone been caught by one of these new mobile speed cameras in NSW? Warning letter or fine?
I'm currently writing a feature on them so if anyone can help that would be terrific.
Cheers

Not much to say really. Am a student writer working on a project on the new mobile speed cameras. I find it interesting that the cameras are outsourced to private contractors and are supposedly to help the road toll even though most fines are for minor infringements that don't put anyone in danger.
Oh, and am I huge Seinfeld fan. Funny photo -- I just happened to watch the Muffin Top episode where Newman eats all the muffins.

If your bike has an engine and 2 wheels it is worth mentioning.

All the media & govn propaganda has convinced me that if i do i will inadvertently awaken the Antichrist and all salvation will be lost, or i'll spontaneously implode..
how did the past features go in relation to the conventional sign posted cameras or the roadside hairdressers... any outcome as yet?knuman wrote:I'm currently writing a feature on them so if anyone can help that would be terrific.

Re: Caught by Mobile Speed Camera?
It was a short exclusive on the news about how civilians may have lost the right to challenge their mobile speeding fines in court because unlike police and RTA workers, Redflex camera operators cannot be cross-examined in court, and therefore cannot be challenged on whether they had set everything up properly, or even if people were actually speeding etc. Apparently in the US, people have successfully had their mobile speeding fines thrown out the door because they were ruled "unconstitutional"...
Conversely, the Roads Minister David Borger said that Redflex workers are not exempt from being cross-examined in court, though other lawyers say that Redflex doesn't have the resources to challenge every single fine. Which could mean that they'll end up giving up on pursuing the fines if people challenge them (like they do in the US).
