Crash teeth - a little bit graphic

Post by 98ninja »

this has been posted on another forum
some of you may recall a thread i posted about being clipped/hit by a truck whilst riding my pushbike
and the subsequent landing on my face, smashing 3 teeth and breaking my nose.
well heres a photo my girlfriend took at the hospital a few hours after the acccident.
keep in mind the front of the teeth is intact, but the backs have been smashed out and i could
touch the nerve with my tongue,
one tooth has since died.

its not fun. i destroyed a couple of my front teeth when a friend of mine cut infront of me on pushbikes when i was 13.
thought i had a facefull of dirt but it turned out i was spitting out the remains of my teeth.
so now i have two black teeth cause they're both dead but luckily i didn't break my nose like you did.
hopefully getting wheels in motion to finally fix mine this year.

mine weren't really aching on the day of the event, might have been the shock.

how bout yours? painful much?

they hurt for the first few weeks. Mainly because one of them died and got infected. the infection caused an abscess which put pressure on the rest of my face. i did a 6km run 2 weeks after it happened and i had the worst headache during and after it. that got fixed, but apples are still a challenge.

i got an abscess as well but it while i was going back and fourth for appointments so it didn't get too bad before we got onto it. so did they just build em back up or just replaced them? what the deal? i didn't take much notice when i was a kid and had mine done but they kinda just built mine up and tried to colour what was left to match. didnt make a differance now.

well the night of the accident i got temporary caps put on. and since then the dentist has monitored the condition and fixed the infection. 3 more weeks and i get ceramic caps. very expensive but im told theyre better than the original teeth in terms of durability.
hopefully my insurance claim goes through soon and i get all my cash back.
