i did my first bit of exercise today since being hit by the truck , i went for a 6km run and......
my teeth hurt, my nose hurt, my shoulders hurt and my lower back hurt.
way more than usual for a run. and since the other party has decided to be a prick
it will be quite a while before i get a replacement pushbike.
so ive always been interested in kayaking, especially in ku ringai national park.
are there any kayakers around? i dont know where to start or what to look at in terms of equipment
im really missing my endurance exercise.
any kayakers?

i've done a bit with my old man, in your hobby style kayaks.
they are harder to paddle than a slimline racing kayak.
Its a weird sensation but, its good for arms and shoulders, but doesnt really help woth aerobic exercise. i can paddle 20kms and not be puffed, just sore from paddling, and then dragging the kayak up the boatramp puffs me out
you really have to look at what kinda kayaking you wanna do, the old mans ones are river kayaks, we went out at port shephens one day and i ended up getting soaked in the choppy water. they sit too low.

Try this lot extremely helpful and have days where you can test paddle to see what suits you

I've got a little surf ski which is good for the sea and lakes. Feels like almost as much acceleration as a bike when you catch a big wave. Don't get as damaged when you come off

That is why God made fast motorcycles, Bubba.... Hunter S. Thompson.
