tyre warmers?

Post by csgup1 »

Next two things on my list of things to buy for the crim are tyre warmers and raceglass.

probably looking at tyre warmers first and being the person that I am :P , Im looking for value for money so probably looking at the non digital tyre warmers

So far Ive got my options down to

Emtek. Anyone have any experience with these? they are going for 345 currently in an ebay sale.

Tyrsox. Ive looked up mixed reviews about these and they have been about for a while . they are about 300 shipped from overseas

IRC. Still looking these up but seen them work very well

Sumomoto are about 250 odd shipped from overseas as well. Ive seen these work quite well as well.

and finally the kaneg ones that I have heard good things about as well. :D :D

If you can, stretch out extra for the digital one's. The non-digital are preset thermostats and can vary in temperature thus either lasting ages or burning through within a couple of years (like mine did!) Set them at 70C as they are warmers not heaters and they should last if you treat them well ;) Like Wattie I now have the Kaneg Digital one's :kuda:

I liked the Kaneg Digitals that much, I have 2 sets.... :-)

I have used two sets from ebay both digital and both have caught on fire, and John from Mornington Kawasaki has had a set catch fire as well on the same day.
I now use the IRC and even without a digital reading and adjustable thermostat I think they get as hot as the other ones when they were set to 100 degrees.
I know John now stocks the Emtek warmers and pretty sure similar price to the Ebay price mentioned above.

One was branded the other(the first set) was not, what I have learnt with racing is spent the extra the first time is saves you a lot in the long run.

Did a say it was you..? :-)

Anyway, No you didn't, or I would have sold em to ya.....

But paying more for my spares than a new set would have been pretty stupid..

I did get my other set for a good price though... ;)
