ZRX: Yoshi or Akra Bolt on?

Post by shadowarrior »

Looking at getting a stainless steel bolt on for my zrx. Confused between Yoshi RS3 or the Akra...
I checked a couple of youtube vids of yoshis on ZRX, and they sound nice.
Am after something with a deep and heavy rumble... so if any of you have an Akra bolt on installed in your ZRX, could you give me some feedback?

Also am looking at going with starcycle.com to import the can....read all good reviews about the site.

Thanks :kuda:

Sidds, I had a Yoshi on my zrx11 years ago so I'm partial to them. Lovely sound. However, guys who have Akras swear by them.
Consider getting a s/h full sytem off the zrxoa though. The headers on the Rex weigh a lot and restrict power.
The slip-on won't add any power, just sound good. You'll also start to get pissed off when the slip-on looks great and the headers start to show a lotta rust.

Hehe, I hear you about the full system Tony, would love one on mine, but my wife is gonna kill me if I spend that much right now :D
Had a tough job convincing her for the bolt on :P

And I now have an option for a Muzzy Ti bolt on... how do they sound?
All the youtube vids I found on zrx and muzzy are the megaphones only :|

Didnt you go to the islands this time btw?

Akra for sure. US Yoshi don't have the build quality of the Akra/Sato/Arata IMO.. Mines rusted in places, whereas my Arata on the 636 is schmicko still..

I imported a full Muzzy S/S system which was much lighter, looked really good, sounded good and with the addition of a jet kit, made the bike go really well. It just a pity that I dropped the ZRX and bent it all up!!!

You can contact them directly and they are not too bad to deal with.

ouch!! thats a point to ponder....thanks for sharing that.

@Ian, yeah I am kind of leaning more towards the Muzzy now. For the price am paying for it, is almost same as getting an ixil made, and way lesser than the Akras as well :)

Fingers crossed...hope the deal goes well :)

Like others have already said, get a FULL system!..........you won't regret it, well worth the extra $$$.

I'm partial to the Akra :D , top build quality and good power curve....no longer made for the ZRX, so get one while you can!
