Track days and a suspended licence
No one is in the office for a few more days so i'd thought i'd ask you guys. Can I do track days at Phillip Island on a suspended licence?
I saw this on the Phillip Island Ride Day website;
Licensing
To participate in Phillip Island Ride Days you must hold a current license for the motorcycle you are to ride. Whilst competition (MA) licenses are valid, learners permits are not. If you are unsure whether or not you hold the correct license to ride the track, contact our office for more information on 1300 793 423, or via email info@Phillipislandridedays.com.au.
Cheers

If they check, my guess would be you could be knocked back. Last time this discussion was bought up most members did not get their dates checked or be asked if it was suspended upon registration, its your call if you want to risk it.

Re: Track days and a suspended licence
It's my understanding that the only reason having a license is compulsory for ride days is as evidence of your (supposed) ability to ride a motorcycle ... having your license suspended doesn't take away your experience and ability, and therefore I believe they'll still let you ride with a suspended or expired license. Having said that, I don't think it's ever been checked at either PI or EC.

Never been checked apart from 'showing' it to the lovely admin chicks - thats about all you have to do. They are unlikely in the *extreme* to be checking the dates etc, or making calls, logging into the RTA website database for licences.....as long as your licence has a class for motorcyles on it, I reckon you will be fine......

Re: Track days and a suspended licence
They'll check it when you sign in at the entry gate. Not much of a check, just a check to see that a licence was produced, if you get what I mean
FWIW, they knocked me back once for having a licence that was 3 days expired

So that's only a date reference, they really don't have any way of telling it is cancelled so it sounds like you have got nothing to loose as long as your physical licence is intact

"private practice Russ"
At ECRD, short cue on the left hand side, they always ask to see my MA license, but in saying that they do not check it properly

Re: Track days and a suspended licence
This was the reply I got back from admin.
"Hi Carl
You do need a current motorcycle license to ride the circuit, if it is suspended you won't be able to ride on the track
Kind Regards,
Leonie Cogley
Sales Coordinator
Motorcycling Events Group Australia"
Ahh well, it'll be risk with the bike itself. Pipe is too loud and the bottom of the fairings have some nasty, jagged, cracks.

Re: Track days and a suspended licence
You shouldn't have done that. Now they'll be on the lookout for you!
As long as you have the physical licence you should be ok.
(as long as it's not expired

Re: Track days and a suspended licence
I just spoke with Champion Ride Days, they will allow suspended riders to do track days - you must either still have the licence card, or if it was taken away, a letter from the department of transport confirming you have passed a test to have a full licence.
