Defective vehicle fine (QLD)
Unfortunately for me, I was one of those that received a defective vehicle fine on our ride the other day. Like the rest, the nice policeman gave me one of those yellow Infringement Notices, but nothing else. My question is, do I have to take my bike down to the local constabulary to have it inspected, or do I just pay the fine and that's it? The way I understand it, you need to have received another notice telling you where and when you have to have the bike inspected. Has anyone had any experience with this as I cant seem to find any info on it from the interweb.
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

Re: Defective vehicle fine (QLD)
I received one of these a couple of years ago (surprise surprise Mt Glorious) the nice officer asked me which police station I wanted to present the bike at and gave me 14 days to rectify the fault (rear mudgaurd) I took the bike in 2 weeks later, (they had no paperwork about the incident) showed them the bike, and infringement notice. And let me go on my way. If you ask me the whole deal was a bit airy fairy and I beleive differs from copper to copper. I would be calling them to clarify the situation. Make sure you get something in writing just to cover yourself.
