"No comment" ??? that's very out of character Hoffinator!?
Seriously fark that sportmax off Duane .... you know you want too!!
Found the RS's square off pretty quick out here compared to the PR2-s..... but then I don't rude the spur quite as often as Mal (turns greener than the KLR)

Re: Fresh rubber for the Z
Duane, Everyone will keep telling you that your front and back tires need to match to ride at all... I prefer my tires to be swapped one at a time, because that way you dont have to dig up $500 in one week.... its easier to try and seperate the replacement dates on the tires and do them at opposite ends of the year
I bought a set of roadsmarts a while ago and found they didnt last very well at all... I was bitterly unhappy with them, back on Pilot Powers now...

I now have an M3 on the front and the Dunny Qual on the back that is soon to go, went for the M3's as Mal swore by em once upon a time and what's good for one 9 rider should be good for another I figure. So then I have a KSRC hiatus for 6 months or so and come back and Mal's jumped outta the closet and swearing by Dunlop now, well fark me, regardless M3 on front and soon to be M3 on rear for me cos it's already paid for..
A good mate will bail you out of jail, a true mate will be sitting in the cell next to you saying "Damn, we fucked up!!!"

If you mean the Pirelli SuperCorsa 3 dual compound........let me say that it is a *really* good tyre for grip !!Strika wrote:......I'll say though, that I have not yet tried the lastest equivelent from Pirelli. It may be better again, I don't know.....
Got one of these fitted to the Barge before the trip up to Gingers Creek........only because they couldn't get a PR2 in stock before the trip.
Having never tried a Pirelli on the Barge, and seeing as this one was a dual-compound.....I thought 'fuck it' , and couldn't be happier. It seems to have handled the long slabbing stretches just fine, and also was just *fantastic* on the wobbly bits !!

The real test will be at PI on the double-header track day.
Duane - unless you intend to set lap-records on the Eastern Freeway - not having matching tyres is about the least of your problems. I am currently running a Power front with the Supercorsa rear, and its a great combo. But the PR2 is a really really good rear tyre mate, you will be hard-pressed to find a better one, with the mileage they give and the grip levels, I reckon its probably the best tyre I have used on the back of the Barge. Its early days for the Pirelli, and I pretty much expect it to be fucked after the PI round......

Duane, at the end of the day get what you can now ( rear ) then maybe match it later with the front if you like what you got. As long as the profiles don't conflict, what is there to differ on the tread pattern or manufacturer? Does it make your bike do things you don't want it to?

Apart from my bullshit response, is there that many of us able to test a tyre out to it's max anyway.

My 2 bobs worth.

Re: Fresh rubber for the Z
Ok checking my bike history i have done 35,000 on m3s and 35,000 on roadsmarts and unless there are no roadsmarts available when i need them i wont be changing. In that case i suppose i would try some pr2s that way i could really tell the differance.Nah I always am prepared and order my tyres in advance so,NO i wont be changing
I will be able to report how the roadsmarts handle around broadford in november when i do my course

Just dropped the bike off to PS Melbourne for a fresh set of Roadsmarts. After riding with Mal a few times earlier in the year, I'll give them a shot and see how I go
