Help with some spannering on the tracky
G'day guys. I took the ZX6 to Broadford and while most things were good (besides me having to remember how to ride again) it seems the bike has some kind of fuel problem.
I had to pull over onto the grass a number of times because the bike just died (as if it wasn't getting any fuel). In the end I thought it would be best to call it a day when this happened on the second lap after lunch. I'm sure the other riders weren't happy with having to slow down for a yellow every session.
So, to get to the point, do any of you guys know any good mechanics in Melbourne or Geelong who could have a look at my bike? I want to get the carbs cleaned out and fuel filter and pump looked at but don't have the time to do it myself. Also it would probably take another 7 months if I tried this myself.
Thanks in advance.
P.S I'm posting this from my phone so I couldn't do a search to see if someone's asked this before.

Prepared to go to Melbourne or Geelong so do we assume you're in the western burbs of Melb? I daresay you would prefer a recommendation closer rather than further to you...

I live near Footscray and work in Geelong. Will be calling Race Rep on Monday but they might be a bit too pricey for my budget.

These guys did my camchain, valve clearances and tuned for very cheap.
They are independants and also RACE themselves
Good friendly service too

Steve, you may want to link to the "guys" in question.seiko1 wrote:These guys did my camchain, valve clearances and tuned for very cheap.

A good Mechanic can be very hard to find. Con at High Octane Motorcycles comes very highly recommended, but is in Thomastown. Race Rep don't have the best rep of spannering, I'd avoid Balls like the Plague and have not had great experience with many others in the West. I'll be travelling to Thomastown for my next service.

Could it be your tilt switch??? Cause when I first took my honda out my mate cable tied the tilt swith at a angle and when I in mid corner it would die on me. Just a thought

I don't think it has a tilt switch, being a carbie setup and all.. Plus I didn't think I was cranking it over that far.. Will check when I get home though.Tinman wrote:Could it be your tilt switch???
