Does anyone here deal with aluminium doors? I need to order a door system for a 5.4 metre opening and is 2.3 metres high. I have priced some locally but thought I should check on here first before I order them. Bifolds are too expensive so I am looking at a six door sliding system and I need to order them ASAP. If you have a company that do these, or know someone who does, let me know in this thread or PM.
Cheers,
Rob

Re: Aluminium sliding doors
You will be looking at a commercial application at that size and that many doors. I used to work in the residential window industry. A couple of things you need to consider -
How big are the doors and what glass is in them. If it isn't laminate min 6.38 or toughened then it doesn't comply. Being that big it will be heavy so the the rollers can not be cheap shite. The biggest problem with sliding doors/ windows are always the rollers, make sure they are changeable as dirt will stuff them up. Look at a 6 six door system, 4 doors have to move and 2 are fixed this can make it hard (impossible to fly screen) to secure and to operate.Try Cantebury windows, they were know for doing commercial for a residential application.
Personally bifolds are the way to go but can't be fly screened and in some applications are not great for waterpoofing nor for insulation.
Good luck.

Re: Aluminium sliding doors
It's only going on an outdoor room which will have a gym in it so there is no need for fly screens and the ones I have a quote for are laminated and have the two outer doors fixed and the middle four sliding like you mentioned. I will check the rollers though as that is something I didn't consider so thanks for the tip.
I'm not going bifolds as they are twice the cost and would be a waste in my application. If I don't know anyone who does these I will just order them from the place I have the quote from as they are a good local company; I was just checking to see if someone I knew dealt with this sort of thing so I could support their business instead.
