QLD Weather!

Post by Saki »

If anyone from the effected areas has made it back home or is able to get online, how are you coping, i've been watching the news and its looking a bit wet! We haven't had much rain up here on the sunshine coast today and has been quite clear.

we've had about 3-4" and its still raining up here. wouldn't want to be in some parts of brissy though. Mt Glorious copped about 18" (bout 450mm). the place must look like a waterfall with that much rain. my front tyre is so bald its nearly a slick, and i gotta ride it to work tomorrow :(

Woke up to the sun this morning, and we thought we might be able to get out for a bit on the bikes. Half an hour later, the rain was here again!
Cheers,
Anne

Mike and I were out on the bikes most of the day today-
Fine until Mary Cairncross Park- while we were there it was about -40 degrees and BUCKETING down! We left and it was fine and sunny then drizzling and cold, then fine and sunny....
WTF has happened to our weather????

Had a ball anyway! :D 8)

Well, the weather has REALLY affected ne now. Here are some pics of some of the flooding here. The landslide pic is my very favourite riding road, Peachester!

Got a sandstone block retaining wall at the front of my house and had a minor land slip/collapse as the rain washed all the dirt from between/behind the rocks :?

Don't want to make light of other peoples misfortune, but a positive for me from the flooding is that I may get some business from insurance replacements of damaged equipment

It's a bugger about Peachester. I rarely get up there, but I love the road! We were lucky here, being high we never have any problems with flooding. I did send Jeff up into the roof as I was concerned about one part of the ceiling which we only had fixed after the big November storms. All good though! :D
Cheers,
Anne

we are still trapped down here in yamba.
they are opening the road outta here tonight i hope
ive got severe cabin fever.
the annoying thing is that its been good weather since sunday here. if the beach wasnt filthy i would be tempted to go surfing.

we managed to avoid anything serious here just the roads are cut off and the high tides come back up the drains.

Grafton and Maclean got it good but it didnt break the levy walls.
