NOW your talkin' !!!

bit exxy to get a good one of these........a couple of the Laverda guys were at the recent Dyno day - In Search Of The Perfect Corner ?? or something like that - is their website. Worth a look.

Z900 ? too common mate ;) , and not 'quirky' enough.

Why don't you just get a good J model waterbottle, bang some nice chrome spannies on it.....and ride it for the next 20 years with no more than good 2-stroke oil in the tank and the waft of Castrol R filling your nostrils every morning ??? They are a fantastic classic, reliable, plenty of 'quirk' factor, and not *that* expensive (relatively speaking). You could probably get a really good example for <$10k.

I'll google some photos - stand by. Its the bike you have always wanted.....isn't it ? ;)

X 2 for the Jota 8) Very cool beast .
Good read too S&W .
Talked to a bloke at the Southern who has a waterbottle that has be "tuned" Wildest motorcycle he has ever riden 8)

8)
Ummmm let me see

If ya going to go that stance, might as well do it properly and get a V-Max
Finally some sense, I sat on a new V-Max and got wood

I WANT ONE. Wonder if the wife wants/needs a new bike

Good review Adrian, but the questions is, "Did you like it?" ;)

If you are going to buy a BMW, avoid the old ones and avoid second hand ones. For some unknown reason, Beemers have a gearbox that likes to have the selector pre-loaded before changing gears. Ride it like a Jap sports bike and expect some very expensive clutch/gearbox repairs.

Having said that, I still think the K1200S is a very impressive bit of kit.

You are not alone. Makes the V-max look like a 2-bob hooker.

Then it really depends on if you like 2-bob hookers or a fat chick living out a Cat Woman fantasy ;)

anyway, back to the topic....

Ado - that GT500 looks like a corker. For 5k its a steal, even if a bit of work is needed. Why, its even 2/3 of a waterbottle, without the 'water' bits !!

check this out for megaDrool Factor

I know a few guys over here that have GT and SC1000 and found the motor to be fine , they are geared that way for the Euro 3 emissions and going a 14t sprocket on the front maked it an entirely different animal, it is just a ducati thing, I enjoy the testastretta engine of the 749 and the box works great, but I do have to ride the clutch a little to get her going.I haven't ridden a inline four for some time but I have a funny feeling that it would be a damn site more comfortable and user friendly than the duke.

The Duck is one of two bikes I would like to own and the other being a Guzzi 1200 Sport. I couldn't however justify the price recently when I reckon the ZRX is a whole lot better bike for a whole lot less coin.... :D

BTW I'm gonna buy an RG500 shortly if I can find one for a reasonable amount of coin. There is one for sale in Canberra for $25k at the mo FFS!
2 X ZRX1200R 4 X ER6N, GT550, 1988 ZX-10, 4 X GPZ250R, 4 X GPZ900R and GPZ750R :) Yeah I like Kawasakis.
