Has this or similar happened to you ???

Post by kaneg »

I had an absolute ball at EC on the 25th of Oct.
The day was good ( GLORIOUS,I shouls say  )
I was showed into the red group as that was the only available.
Firts session, second lap. I'm setting up to tip it in turn 9 and something starts to crawl accross my visor.......
A bloody BEE, right front of my eyes, it's soo massivelly magnified , since it's closer to your eyes that normal and it wen't right accross the inside of my visor.
Had to get back into the pit to get rid of it. After that it was a good day, followed a guy around on a 600, and he inspired me to gas it up earlier than I'm used to out of the turns, so it was a good learning day.

Have you had an animal (not person) in your helmet ???

I went through a swarm of bees once, none got into my helmet (or anywhere else) but my mate following me copped 3 or 4 stings, turns out he's pretty allergic to bee stings and the poor bloke started to swell up pretty badly. I've also had some flies find their way into my helmet a few times, including one that somehow managed to get into my ear, that was pretty irritating... but so far nothing nasty inside the helmet, and i hope to keep it that way!

Ive had the occasional fly and bug inside the helmet at times. ..

but did have a mate that picked up his helmet from the garage floor, tinted visor up ... popped that on and went up the road.... only to find that when he flipped it down when hitting the main road, there was a big arse huntsman parked on the INSIDE of the visor ...

And on the seventh day Richo ended his work which he had made. Decided resting was for soft cox, straddled the REX and headed up the old road.
And it was good

i once got a cigarette butt to the face from some knob in a car throwing one out the window.
i had the visor up at just the wrong time i guess
ever since nothing shits me more than people smoking in cars and ashing out the window.
So much so that i have often pulled up along side them at the lights and "politely" explained to them that they shouldnt do it

Had a beetle fly into my Shoei, somehow made it through the top vent at 110km/h alive and started crawling around in my hair. That was a bit freaky, but managed to put up with it until I got home and then let the little fella out.

I ride with the visor cracked open during hot weather, I get flies in there all the time. Normally just open the helmet up and turn my head sideways and they're gone (I'm normally wearing sunnies so they don't make it into my eyes).

I copped something with my visor open, right in the middle of the right lense of my glasses, dunno what it was, but it ended up green, and all over my face.

I unfortunately got stung by a bee on a KSRC ride thru the Spurs outside Melbourne
I guess it had hit the chinguard on the helmet and then went down into the collar on the jacket
and ouch  it hurt (and lucky I am not allergic like some)

my missus was not impressed by the lump on the side of my neck

cheers

Some bozo threw a ciggy out of his window when I was right behind him.... ended up burning my cheek (had my visor up), it stung like a bee though... does that count?
