Re: New bike - fell in trailer
Hi Guys.
Thought I'd give you an update on how the repairs went.
It wasn't as bad as it looked and only needed a few small things to get it going, so I bought a new frame, wheels, engine, swingarm, sub frame, shock, forks, disks, tank, dash, clip ons, rearsets, exhaust, radiator, screen, fairings and some other small bits and turned it into a track bike.
Only cost me $42,500 due to a good discount at the local dealer..
I didn't mind spending this as being a "special edition" model, Im sure to get my money back.
Unfortantely, things didn't go well on its first outing and it fell in the trailer on the way to the track again..
I could not believe it, as I checked the stand 5 times.!!
Luckily a guy at the track lent me some of those tie down things so I can get the bike home safely.
I think I'll use these until I can source a better side stand..
The side stands on this model are real problem and should have been recalled..!!!
I have taken this up with Kawasaki and written a formal complaint, outlining the details of these incidents. Unfortunately whenever I ring and tell them my name, they are busy and no one is available to talk to me. It must be a great place to work though as everytime I ring I hear a lot of laughing in the background...

Hi mate
Which dealer gave you that great price, I have a mate thats after a few bits and pieces to get his bike back on the road, admittedly it has a little more damage than yours but we think it's still repairable...

The sidestand should be fine dude. Just make sure you put it down..and take it easy around left hand corners.

Actually I have a spare set of front brakes, Whack them on it and it'll look like new. $50 posted and they're yours..

Re: New bike - fell in trailer
it's not thje side stand dude. This bike is notoriously difficult to lean to the left. So much so that alot of people think it it just cant do them.
It makes negotiating high and low speed corners (whether it be at the track or a roundabout) very hard to accomplish,
So I think when you try and lean it to the left to put it on the side stand it just sits back up naturally. You should try relocating the side stand to the right hand side before ditching those tie downs and all should be fine.
