ZZR 1100 throttle lock.

Post by large »

Has anyone ever fitted up a throttle lock to a ZZR1100? I've been given a Super Vista universal item but the clamp will not fit on the bars. I was hoping some one may have fitted on so I can get some ideas as there looks to be some modification to get this on.

Thanks

I don't know if this will work for you but a mate of mine has a Triumph 900 and he got a 20c O ring and just has it on his bar end, when he wants to lock the throttle he just slides it onto the end of the throttle grip and hey presto an instant Friction throttle lock! :D if you need to shut the throttle off just turn it, there is enough friction to hold the throttle steady but not enough to jam it to stop you from closing it ;)

Easy one. Did this on my ZZR11 and 12. There is a threaded hole on the brake master cylinder to take a mirror (!) and this has a plastic plug in it. Remove the plug and buy a bolt with this thread on it. You don't need the clamp- the arm of the throttle lock has a hole that the bolt can go in. :)

Thanks for that.

I had thought of the 'mirror" mount, the lock i was given only has a small arm on it and wont reach the threaded hole. I will have to fabricate something to extend/reach this hole so the throttle lock will sit square on the grip.
