I reckon 4 cylinders is too much for a 250. The stroke is pretty short already, and it just introduces more weight and complexity for a bit more power. If a 250 needs 4 cylinders then the 1000 4s are tractor engines because they should have 8 or more. More mysterious is how the EX250 finds itself in a current model ZX-R forum...

You havent ridden a 250 4 that revs to 20K then.... a bit more power is an understatement thats why the CBR 250 R & the ZXR250 are so popular & fetch $7k for a good one!

The point is how much of that power is solely due to the fact that it has four cylinders instead of two. The supersport 250s are in a higher state of tune than the GPX, so it's silly trying to claim that two cylinders are vastly inferior to four in a 250. Large carbs (30 mm carbs feeding 63 cc cylinders) , higher fuel requirements,valve train optimised for high revs and lot of revs. Not such a fair comparison. The ZXRs stroke is only 20% less than the GPX, yet it revs significantly higher. It is obvious that you're not comparing apples here.

couldnt agree more mate lolz looks HOT lolz makes my zxr250 look ancient haha should drop the zxrs engine in it and the forks haha hrmmm that would be a beast lolz nice bike nonetheless

Word from Kawasaki is that the bikes will be on the shop floors inside three weeks. They require a mudguard to be shipped over from Japan in order to pass the DOTARS inspection. Strangely enough it's the same mudguard fitted to the VN1600 for the Japanese market which will be HUGE and fucken unsightly! Part supposedly here in two weeks, bikes sent out immediately, third shipment due in a few days so all confirmed retail orders will be filled with all dealers across Australia. Then Kawasaki Australia will pull a chandelier from a walnut and turn an elephant into a tennis racquet.... I want to believe it to be true but I'm not getting excited just yet

I know you are simply being facetious but I will humour you and give you an answer. I was implying that Kawasaki have been unreliable as of late and in order to achieve the Ninja 250 being ready on time they will have to resort to magic, jiggery pokery, sleight of hand, smoke and mirrors and all that...

Green is tentatively scheduled for release as an '09 model for later this year or early next. The guards when they arrive are simply going to be packed into the crate with the bikes for fitment by the dealers during pre-delivery assembly. This begs the question: 'Does the dealer have to fit the thing? ' Answer is yes, in order for it to leave the premises ADR complied. Best course of action is to ride around the block, go back and ask them to remove it again! (For some obscure reason this is acceptable...go figure... )
