Re: Everyone loves a fatboy
I've thought about buying a H-D irrigation pump. I wondered if an 883 Sporty might make a reasonable commuter bike and the thought of using a Milwaukee boat anchor as such tickled my sense of humour. The 883s are fairly inoffensive to ride - in a farty, floaty sort of way - and the Harley crowd tend to look down on them too, which only increases their appeal in my eyes. Too bloody unreliable though and, even though they're cheap for a second-hand H-D, they're still an expensive commuter.
Every other Harley I've ridden I've been more than happy to give back, usually with a comment like, "Nice paint" or "Shiny, isn't it?", which seems to please the average owner of these agricultural implements.
It's the owners/builders of "performance" Harleys that really amaze me. How come "performance" never seems to include going around corners?

When you have them by the balls, hearts and minds will follow...
