Re: I WON! I finally won a Superbike race!
Thanks a heap for the support, I won't forget it!
Anyway here are a couple of pics. The full CD of them is coming soon, but I thought I would post up the 2 he has sent me so far.
The first one is probably from the start of lap 2 in Sunday mornings race when the guy behind me was having a big look! He ended up coming third, the guy who came second is probably just out of shot. This was the second lap I had ever lead in my life.... The other pic is probably from lap 3, when I had just started pulling a gap. Many more to come!

From the look of those lean angles you'd better shorten the crash knobs up a bit before your touching them down
Well done on the results and the pics certainly tell the story of how aggresive you rode.

Mate I was there you were kicking ass!!! And that second shot is a scary place to be cranked over like that, well done! You had a couple of moments on the back of the track but kept it together and pulled away stedily, great riding and did I mention well done!!

Looking good Drym!!!!
I am so pissed at myself for not going, if i knew they were running C&D grade races i would have been there pushing you for that win
.
Its seems to be one of those places though Morgan Park, after hearing how much you love it and now knowing you will love it even more i talked to another guy and he said he will never race there again. Something about overcrowding, lack of tracktime, sidecar oildowns and a 100 generators making an allmighty racket. Plus being so far away and needing accomadation for a few days. He was so pissed by saturday night he allmost didnt run on sunday. But he did and got even more mad and to top it all off he hit a roo on the way home and trashed the bonnet of his car, turned out to be a very expensive weekend for him.

Yeah and when he turned up to his 1st ksrc rideday with a old Z550? or Z650? a few years ago which had cracked perishing tyres ( I kid you not) and probably the originals it was made with, it had the chrome side crash bars hanging out and all, I thought you've gota be kidding right!bluezx14 wrote:Mate I was there you were kicking ass!!! He informed me he had only recently started riding

To our amazement he had that thing cranked over almost to the point of running on the spokes of the wheels and other than scraping away those chrome bars really was the only thing stopping him getting it over more

I couldn't help but look in my mirrors all day as he was throwing that bike around as hard as he could and was keeping up with the 12R most of the time

With some encouragement he got into racing, I reckon he belongs there with his un-adulterated riding style.

Re: *PICS ADDED* I WON! I finally won a Superbike race!
Hey Jonno, that's kinda the reason I only ever did a few fast road rides in the mountains; just figured I was running on borrowed time. Glad I took it to the track that's for sure!
Stretchy pretty much everyone I spoke to out there really liked it, I think your mate just got unlucky and had a shocker, happens to all of us sometimes I guess.
Phil & Madkaw, I am making the big decision now as to what to do next season, I want to keep up the momentum with the way things are improving ATM. So I think I will (very reluctantly) sell the Superbike, and maybe move into Superstock 600 and do as many ASC rounds as funds permit, as well as local stuff whenver possible. I will be getting whatever late model 600 I can get for the right price, and you never know, it may end up being a Kwaka! I will be looking at all options - Road bikes and race bikes, crashed and un-crashed, etc. etc.
Bluezx14, did you see my near-highside on the first lap of Sunday morning's race? Man I thought I was gone for sure! I think that is the one that broke the steering damper, coz it kinda tankslapped a bit when I came out of it. And yeah under the bridge is a great corner for cranking it over, but that sweeping left hander down the bottom is probably the best one, it's a bit crazy down there, great fun.
Thanks again for the comments everyone.

Yeah man turn 7 on lap 1 on Sunday's race. Just too keen to pull away from the pack, it started spinning at apex and instead of being reasonable I just gave it more throttle. That'll teach me to be so greedy lol.
As for what brand I end up on, it all depends on what late model 600 I can get, if I can afford one at all after selling the R1....
