2008 model, or should I buy now

Post by Lykaois »

Hi all, looking at buying a new Z750 (or second hand if I find one around northern Queensland), took one for a test ride today and loved it. Just wondering though if its better to wait until the 08 models come out and/or possibly get a run out price? Is there any info what changes Kawasaki have planned for the Z750? Also when does Kawasaki typically release the 08 models?

thanks heaps

Apologies if these questions are asked every year, but couldn't find much in search

Seeing the '07 was a new model and not an update I'd say the '08 would be only a different colour to the '07.

Having said that the '08 introduction is a great time to pick up an '07 model at a lower price 8).

...just don't leave it too long otherwise you'll end up with a Hornet like me :?.

thanks mate, when do the 08 intro's typically happen? Id have thought they would be trying to get rid of 07 stock pretty soon?

08 models have been in the expo's so shouldn't be too long be4 they're out on the floor I would think. Perhaps a PM to Flywheels MC who are a member here and a Kwasaki dealer might be of some assistance?

I have the 07 and it's awesome... :)

I doubt the 08 will be any different, maybe they'll bring in the Jap model with the silver pipes and black brake canister.

The current colours are black green and orange (and silver in Japan) so i doubt there will even be a colour change, also they don't even sell them in the US. $12,400 on road doesn't leave much room for movement in the price for a 750 so it think it may be wise to get the 07 model as next years model might get a couple of new bits (like the ABS) which may push the price up somewhat.

yeh spoke to dealer (good guy up in Cairns) we came to a deal of $11,000 on the road, and i can choose the 08 range or 07 range. Both years are exactly the same just colour varies. Black and Green for 07 and Orange and Blue for 08. Im tossing up 07 black...but im starting to think the orange looks sweet and its a 08 colour so resale would obviously be better. What do you guys think?

(I know instinct says just go with my favorite colour though, its what im gonna live with long after the money is forgotten)

I have inexplicable and unusual cravings for an orange z750 - I'll try to buy an '04 one in the next year or two when they get cheaper ... but sssh, don't tell Cath :)

you will HAVE to tell her when she sees you extending the existing garage to accomodate the new fleet vehicle......

or just do what I did - "look what I got you love" ;) ;)

BTW, ride "my" zrx BEFORE you buy a Z750 :P.............a brawny naked bike and a zx9 IS the perfect combination

Ooowww, that's tough, choosing between a rex and a z. Perhaps I need a 4 car garage, enough room for both :)
