Well Andi, they expect to catch both unregistered bikes and unlicensed riders as well as pwople utilising incorrect areas to ride. Believe me from experience too, they can steer a bit good !!!

But aren't dirtbikes don't need to be registered if they were ridden off-road ?

I think to ride on designated tracks Andi they still need recreational registration as well as lights and horn. Also around the Cranny area I have little doubt there's proably a shitload of 12-16yo types riding around the area illegally, I know I did it when I was a kid in Geelongjavaman wrote:But aren't dirtbikes don't need to be registered if they were ridden off-road ?

Is that so. I meet so many trail bikes around Marysville and Noojee with no number plates. They often ride on the road abit and then dissapear into the woods. Looks like heaps of fun. Covered in mud most of the time.

Definitely need rec reg to ride anywhere other than private property here in Vic. Even the Polaris quad should be rec reg'ed.
Even though the plate is supposed to be visible from the rear of the bike, I've seen blokes out at Toolangi/Narbethong with the rego plate and the rego sticker stuffed down behind the instruments.
