Yamaha has given the new 2008 Yamaha YZF-R6 a complete workover and despite the motorcycle looking pretty similar to the current Yamaha R6, it gets a new frame and swingarm, reworked 599cc engine, new slipper clutch, improved front brakes and more aerodynamic bodywork. S'pose one would be alright.
If you couldn't get a -6R.
Yams always look a bit flimsy to me, though. Dunno why, I owned one back in the 80's that was sturdy enough and so did a lot of my mates. Come to think of it though, things did tend to fall off them a lot (footpegs, sidecovers, exhaust mounting bolts, indicators, etc).
