To compliment their comprehensive range of intermediate and advanced programs for licensed riders, Honda Australia Rider Training (HART) are running track-based Advanced II Skilled Rider Courses in March and May.
This high level one-day course aims to sharpen the rider’s everyday skills by allowing participants to develop superior motorcycle manoeuvring ability and control techniques.
Whereas other programs focus simply on how to ride fast on a race track, HARTs Advanced II program allows participants the opportunity to learn to ride at higher speeds whilst developing crucial skills in a safe environment.
“This is without doubt, one of the most sought after courses that we offer”, said HART’s National Manager Mark Collins.
“Our instructors work toward fine tuning each rider’s mental and physical skills, as well as correcting any specific deficiencies through offering advice and practical demonstrations.”
“Motorcycling is a very physical experience and correct sequence and timing of your movements can make the difference between full control and losing it, particularly over unpredictable and slippery surfaces,” Collins said.
“HART Riding Instructors offer many years of motorcycle training and riding experience. They are the very best in their field so participants can be confident of the level of training offered.”
Topics covered include using eye direction, correct posture and rider input to get the most out of your motorcycle.
Cornering techniques, counter steering, and braking exercises will improve skill and confidence and lead to the ultimate goal of day which is the “perfect lap”.
Participants are required to be fully licensed and have completed the HART Intermediate (6 & 7) and/or Advanced Level 1 (8 & 9) Course.
They must use their own registered, roadworthy motorcycle, however HART can provide Honda CB600 Hornet’s for hire if required.
Although Advanced II is conducted at Broadford Race Track in Victoria it is not designed to be a day of racing.
However, previous Advanced II students will also attend and use the day to practise the skills they learnt at their training. These ride sessions will operate in-between coaching sessions throughout the day.
“Over the past couple of years, we have been expanding significantly upon the kinds of programs we offer to people who already ride, but who need to upgrade or refresh their skills,” Collins noted.
“There are a lot of guys and girls who need assistance at various stages of their motorcycling career.”
“That can be giving someone the confidence they need to move up to a bigger bike which is what our Intermediate course aims to do, or updating a rider’s skill who hasn’t been on a bike for awhile, as we do in our Refresher course.”
“The Advanced II course is for someone who is relatively advanced and wants to take their riding that one step further.”
