Melbourne Bike Expo

Post by gigksrc »

My son (the baby one that's taller than me!) & I are going to the bike expo & an indoor demo bike thing (7 pm kick off) so if any of you are planning on going in there on Friday night look out for us.

I'm going to drag Ros and the kids down there Saturday arvo.

If anyone is around look for a short 42yo with a KSRC T-Shirt and depending on the temperature, possibly a Kawasaki jacket loitering suspiciously around the Kawasaki stand drooling, all the while being nagged at by a long-suffering wife and three middle-sized children.

The way I see it I go to their stuff (and have done for years) they can come to mine for once...AND enjoy it . Well, even if they don't I'm going anyway.

Of course, if there's a 2007 Z750/Z1000 on display all the better 8).

I went this morning, it takes almost five minutes to walk round. Getting in free and doing the press walk round was a bonus though 8)

I went tonight. Best thing was checking out the 600 sportsbikes I am looking at buying in June 07 when I am off the restricted licence. The 2007 CBR600RR was there but sadly not the kwaka 600 from 07. Second best bit was checking out the Konica minolta girl :D

...so is it (or isn't it) worth driving 85km down the Calder for, plus paying $35-40 for a family of five to get in?

Not going to waste my time if you can walk around it in five minutes. :?

Well the expo is no big deal but the dirt bike riders doing jumps & stunts are fantastic. You pay more to see them but it's worth it. They are unbelievably good & the 4 year olds(!) hooning around the circuit are good too.

Would have to say I really liked the expo :D . Was there for an hour and half and still hadn't finished. Diane and I went and sat on all the bikes and asked lots and lots of :?: :?: :?:

If you havent been yet, look under the S&R Pro custom CBR1300, there is a turbo under it  VERY subtle
There is also a WR450 with road tyres and a TURBO in the Off Road Tours stand.
When I CAN download my phone I will post the pics... wicked stuff
Just because you CAN ride, doesn't mean you SHOULD
