Im about as usefull in a motor swapping situation as a KKK costume at the anual rally for the black panthers support group.... as in... not very... hehe

Dear Dr Stereo,

I am confused, I will be purchasing a new bike (2006 model) soon and the loyalty to Kawasaki may be broken! Gasp! :shock:

So what do I do, get an R1 coz its currently the best bike to have imo or get another 12R or even a 10R, just to add to the confusion more I am even considering a ZX14, what should I do please?

(It is a serious question coz i will havta change my sig)

I know the ZX10R has won masterbike of the year again but it isn't as easy to ride as a R1, the ZX12R is 4 year old technology and as much as I loved the one I previously had it is old hat, heavy, and a straight liner but still fast.

This is certainly a difficult question.... There are many fantastic bikes out there, the Fireblade, the R1, the ZX10, the RSV are all fantastic bikes, each one with their own characteristics and each with their own riding style. When you say the R1 is easier to ride, you may simply find it was set up better for you..... In any case.... I bought my kwaka because it was the best bike at the time, if the R6 would have been the better bike I would be in some crappy Yammy club now.... so I am very glad I made that decision..... I will re-consider the situation when it is time to upgrade, I may not buy another Kwaka next time.... There is no "correct" answer to this question....... But if the R1 is such a fantastic bike to ride, where was it in the AMA superbikes last year? Not in the top 3.... ... The ZX10 was right there though... As far as the ZX14 goes.... are you really ready to stop riding sports bikes and swap to tourers?

Well where a bike finishes on the track has no bearing on my thoughts on how it feels on the road, the 10r was a bit perky where as the R1 was smoother and more stable much like a 12R but a hell of a lot lighter. May havta go ride them all again.

Hmm sports tourers, 12R would be in that category now, I can safely say a ZX14 is out of the question.

I have a suggestion for you.... buy an R1, then paint it green.... problem solved...

As far as the 12R being a sports tourer... yes indeed... but some sports tourers lean on sports and others lean on tourer...... the 12 leans heavily on sports, the 14 leans heavily on tourer....
