Looks to be interesting but I fear it will be a cruiser fest...not really my cup of tea. Someone might be interested though so I postred it here. A work mate told me about it today.

Hey Wazza1234 and Tanyathe cheeky, are you's hinting that Ulysses members mostly ride cruisers are ya, WELL are ya, HEY, ARE YA, ya calling me old and decrepit and I can't ride a sporty,
i'm a Ulysses member and you wouldn't catch me dead on one again, something about feeling your front wheel bending in to meet the frame when your on the brakes, eeewwww, horrible feeling, seriously tho, you'll find most of the bikes are tourers or sports tourers.

Les if i was, a few Ulysses members on this forum would kick my ass into next week
The ride itself is mainly aimed at cruisers going by the displays they're going to have there
(eg 12 guage customs, morgon and wackit, some kruiser club) but the z club will be there as well and Qld early motorcycling club
They're hoping to get 1000 bikes... it's going to be awesome

You going Wazza? I would have to take my Virago to that one! BTW rode the Virago to Ipswich and back the other day...first and last time- Toowoomba-Ipswich and back to Gatton, and the tank was dry- can't even do 200km to a tank- 160km or so...yuk.

Thinking about it...have to see what the calander/missus has booked for that weekend. 200km to a tank sux. I reached reserve on the gpx a couple of weeks ago...318kms. I only remember cause i had never used the reserve switch before and the engine stopped, took ages to start...good thing i got that new battery.bonester wrote:You going Wazza? Kewl Wazza. Do you have a 'prime' position on your fuel tap? If you do, that means that your fuel tap needs engine vacuum to switch the fuel on- if you run the carbs dry on main tank, using the prime to fill the carbs again will work better than winding it on for a while.

Aratula is about halfway between Brisbane & Warwick. From Toowoomba it would be about 125km.

We're thinking about going - something a bit different!tanyathecheeky wrote:That's funny I actually logged back on to post it
I'll be there, it is mainly for cruisers, but a lot of sportbikes are going, it's a unique event and raises money for charity
I think it'll be great fun
