We are thinking about importing a 16yo Malaysian next year.

Was a great effort guys & 1 lap down to Glen & the boys ...... was so close violent1.gif
My suggestion for the next one, KSRC members chip in, we get a decent scoot / budget & go hard!
We have a year to make it happen so why not start now! do we have a team manager? :kuda:

There were compounding issues that brought imus undone.
It all started with tyre issues. The wrong compound tyres were delivered. We also ran the rear at the recommended pressure instead of higher.for longevity. So we lost 1/2 hour changing the rear tyre with levers. Allfixed had a spare srt of wheels ready to go. And changed in 5 mins.
Then the exhaust broke at 3am? And with nowhere to fix it, our spare pipe was way down on top end power. Took about 10km off our top speed. Which was only 75-80 to begin with.

Yep... thats endurance racing I guess... We led the Allfixed boys most of the day - but not the important bit  . They got in front when our tyre needed changing (we lost about 20 -30mins doing it with tyre levers), then we clawed that back, then they got in front again at the 1/2 way mark when we pulled the side covers of to check the rollers and missed the restart, then we got back in front again and our exhaust broke and they took the lead, then we got back in front by 2 laps going into the last stint at 9am.. Wattie and Greg were out and Greg got himself on the same lap as us with about 40 mins to go and passed Wattie for the lead with about 15 to 20 mins left and pulled away. After 24 hours there was less than 1 minute in it at the flag.
The Allfixed boys did well, they had similar problems with tyres (but had a spare wheel for a quick change) and broke there exhaust too (but did it earlier on Friday and were able to get it welded up and back on), and given the amount of crashes they had they just kept going. Greg even crashed with about 5 minutes left and was able to pick it up and stay in front of Wattie to take the Allfixed Cup..

Wattie thinks something happened to the clutch or rollers after the first session as it was a lot slower after that. Russ mentioned it lost power during his 2nd session.. I did the 3rd and didn't know it was suppose to go any faster so had no idea. :? Power to weight was my advantage.. :-)
It was obvious something was wrong as Wattie went from doing a 1.11 in the first stint to 1.15 in his 2nd stint and then slower again when the exhaust busted.
Live and learn....
At 3am none of us were ever going to do it again.. But after a few beers on Saturday night, the plans for the next one were being made... :-)

You need to recruit the insure my ride girl for a whole host of reasons none the least of which is the fact that she looks like she weighs 24kg's wringing wet.

What would you estimate the cost of the weekend racing to be?

Not including the purchase of the chariot?
If everything is under control.......your going to slow

Entry cost last year was 800 I think, plus day licence for each rider.
We used about 30l of fuel? A bottle or 2 of 2T oil and if you use road tyres a set will last the whole race.
Plus food, accommodation before and after, travel etc.
