1983 GT 750

Thu May 24, 2012 1:05 pm

Need a quick rundown on the 83 gt 750. Quirks, perks and so on. Not for me, my brother is looking at picking one up. You know him, that bloke that came to WSBK the last couple of years, buys ksrc merch, rides a zxr750, likes kawasaki but hasn't signed up to the forum.....

Apparently it has about 27k on the clock. A shaft drive so i'm not sure what that will mean for maintenance/costs. He's going to look over it tonight (I think) and is planning on taking a few photo's so i can have a squiz. I'll see if I can post them up here over the weekend. :kuda: Apparently it's "complete but unsure if it's on the road". That's about all I know about it at this stage.

great bikes, won Two Wheels Bike of the Year back in 1982 or 83 ? Based on the normal Z750 of the time, but with stronger frame (thicker wall tubing and larger diameter) - bigger forks and chunky swingarm to cope with the shaft drive.

These bikes are essentially unbreakable. If you keep up oil changes etc - they will just go on forever. Heavy compared to the normal chain-drive 750's of the same era - but had a bigger tank for longer mileage.

All the engine parts are easy enough to find if you need them - only 27k its barely run in mate ! Bung up the photos when you get a chance :)
