re: Is the zzr600 as we know it dead?

my boss had a zzr250 as his first ride and used get some unbeleivable fuel economy out of it!!

But I think the new one looks great, but I can see what you mean in keeping the shape standard!!

I wonder if they will go to the new ZX10/ZX6 style instrument panel?

The ZZR1200 isn't the prettiest bike around, but you get used to the look, and it's better when you see it on the road. They go pretty well too.

Yeah, when they were released, I thought: Can't wait for that to come out in the 600 version... but alas...

Bastards, the lot of them.

So are they going to rebadge a '02 ZX-12 and call it a ZZR-1200?

Grrrr

Hey, been lumped in with the girls now, bugger!

Dan Dan Dan, mAAAAAAAAate. You're well over the height where it makes no farking difference what you ride, and you're right it's probably an ACE bike...but then again, there's lots of ace bikes, and I can't ride any of them.

Thanks Brett.

Mate, the 2002 J Series ZX-6R has no spacer on the rear shock, at least I couldn't see one on the US Kawasaki Parts Site.

How tall did you say you were? And you ride a 9R?

Mick I'm 5'4", weigh 55kg (Wirey Build) I bought the Bloody tallest zx9r they made(I found out since), Absolutely Farked my left Knee lowering it to the side stand in the first month, Took about 15mm out of seat height by reducing the rear spacer by @5mm and sliding the forks @5mm. It doesnt hurt to get it on the stand but all tricky stuff like Janelle getting on an off is done with brains not braun.
If theres a gutter close i use that, if not she gets on first with the stand down. All the other tricky stuff like backing and 3 point turns I get off and Push it, May Look silly but I dont Give a TOSS as I'm Riding what i want.
And I'm A Bloody Happy Camper.
Cheers Brett
These Tall buggers have no idea about this stuff do they ... oh no ...

Oh another thing Mick. I've been told you can get a Lower rear spring for the non adjustable bikes, I just softened the fzr6 up all the way for janelle and slid the bars 5mm. Its a bit harsher though the bars and compresses at the back outta corners but it'll do till she gets the Cornering Bug, then we ll trade it or spend some coin(shorter Spring) if we have too. Food For Thought at least.

ive pretty much always been able to flat foot on most any bike ive thrown my leg over, cept a friends Z1000 i sat on (sat on, didnt ride  ) over the weekend... i found myself with my heels about 15mm off the ground  still the bike just felt so light???? i want one 8)

that said, i recon remaking 00-01 zx6r's as zzr600's is a great idea, fantastic bike with good ergonomics, definately much more comfy/less sporty than 03/04 zx636r's... and it should be cheap! tho if the old zzr600 was the bike of choise for the vertically challenged, then kawasaki have snubbed them all :? perhaps height adjustable rear shocks might be on the market, or maybe even an option when new from kawa next year, plus the seat can always be hacked up to make it that little bit lower ... i think buell blast's (single cylinder ~500cc that they dont sell here) have a variety of different seats available for different heights

Just as an update on the 05 ZZR600 (that we won't get down here next year), there are actually a few changes over the old ZX6R it's resurrected.
Apparently the bars are higher and the pegs a bit lower, making for a more comfortable riding position - so those of us not vertically challenged may find it a decent ride when it does make it's way down here. Dunno if the lower pegs compromise lean angle too much though.

A few ppl overseas have them now. Have a read from a few posts down of http://www.cmmartworks.com/phpBB2/viewt ... light=2005.

Thanks for the update Ty. Maybe we may see it in 2006. If seat hight can be sorted just saving the 35 - 40 odd kilos would have to be a good thing.

No wonder I hardly ever look at this site! You guys don't listen! Ages ago I said the US ZZR600 is a modified ZX6. Said the ZZR for Australia would be unchanged other than the colour.

Don't get your hopes up on the half-faired Z750, I understand that's not coming to Australia.

Also said to lower bikes you can use longer dog bones (linkages).

Slinking away now to talk to the cat instead.
