Re: The boys in blue are a bit active ATM!

Dunno about other states, but in NSW you are supposed to notify the RTA of a colour change on a vehicle.
Police this time of year? nah!

Re: coolant on tyres

Coolant is mostly glycol, it won't hurt rubber (hint, what are radiator hoses made of?), and at worst, will leave a sticky residue that will rub off with some slight use.

Re: Clutch not disengaging - why?

O.K, just had Bogan out here, flushed and bled clutch hydraulic system and removed slave cyl, hydraulics functioning normally, no leaks (but horrible filthy fluid flushed!). Pushrod is smooth and free in it's bore, but it is hitting something solid at the other end. The end of teh pushrod is not ...

Re: Taking my hand off it...

I have a pair of gloves that give me pins and needles in teh hands, the leather crinkles up under the knuckles and cuts off blood flow and crushes teh tendons.
Have a look into that, next time it happens, slip a glove off for a bit.

Re: Clutch not disengaging - why?

Sounds like a sticking clutch master or slave (I bet slave). Not much on the mechanical side that will cause this.

You have a PM on CanberraRiders.

On my old Z, I can't really roll start the bike if it's in gear and cold. The clutch sticks a little overnight and makes it an absolute bugger to push, lots of friction( that's what clutches do!).
So, I ride down the driveway, wait till I'm going about 15km/h, select 2nd and clutch smoothly in ...

We just had a big extension put on a shopping centre here.....8 bike parking spots painted and marked right outside the front entrance. It's great!
Of course, some tool in a Harley had taken up two spots with his bloody truckbike.

I went through the Wheel Skills (RTA contractor) pre learner's course here in Newcastle about three weeks ago. In my group of six, we had two women, both had not ridden a bike before and one had not driven a manual car in 20+ years. We were all treated as equals, and the whole instruction syllabus ...

Hi all

First post. Have a 1977 Z650 which I bought to commute to work. Needed some work but is registered and runs well now.
Also new to bike riding, sure is a lot of fun! I think commuting will not be the only use for the bike, some nice roads around here.

Regards, Andrew.
