Re: ZX14 OK for long distance rides?

I think it's perfect for long distances, it definitely does more than 250 kms to a tank (around 350 for me, sometimes a little more), I've done two trips from Canberra to Phillip Island and it was smooth and comfortable.
It has more than just the clock as well, fuel economy in either L per 100 or km ...

Re: Removing DB killers/baffles/silencers from Akrapovic

Done that and no joy, I'll have to have the carbon ends removed and baffles taken out that way as the bolt have been rounded

Re: Removing DB killers/baffles/silencers from Akrapovic

I bought the exhaust directly off of Ebay from the US so no middleman as such......will have to wait to get them out as the carbon fibre end caps will need to be taken off and redone.

Re: Removing DB killers/baffles/silencers from Akrapovic

both mine and a mates are Akrapovics so possibly only those ones then....no idea really but it explains why I've rounded the bolts trying to get the baffles out

Re: Removing DB killers/baffles/silencers from Akrapovic

Just a heads up to those people thinking of getting an exhaust (at a good price) from the USA, specifically California, apparently they have tougher exhaust laws there and they actually have to SPOT WELD the baffles in place as it's illegal to have an exhaust without them.

So hence the reason I ...

Re: Legalised lane filtering - NSW

That headline says
NSW the first state to allow riders to legally move between stopped cars.
As far as I know this is not true? It's legal here in WA?

Lane filtering/splitting has NEVER been legal in any state/territory of Australia, the fine you get for attempting/doing it is to do with ...

Re: ZX-14R in Canberra

Hey, what windscreen do you have? I am looking for one for my bike and i like the look of yours.

It's a screen Genuine Kawasaki Accessory screen by MRA and I bought it from a Two Wheel Centre in England, not sure of the price as it was 2 years ago that I bought it.

I bought a few other Kawasaki ...

Re: Removing DB killers/baffles/silencers from Akrapovic

Hi Steve,
Did you try removing the bolts when bike is cold or hot? If it was cold, try going for a ride and loosen when the system is hot - also another trick, with the system hot, try inserting the alan key and give it a tap with a hammer. Sounds a bit like a butchers job but if there is any ...

Removing DB killers/baffles/silencers from Akrapovic

Hi all,

Hoping that someone can shed some light onto why I'm not able to remove the little old bolt (x4) from my awesome Akrapovics S-K14S03-HZAAT slip-ons, the allen head bolt is being stripped as I try to undo it or am I tightening it I'm not sure as it's not budging at all, all four are the same ...
